Description
Origini white wine DOC Maremma Toscana.
This wine produced with Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes takes us back in time, to when only these grapes were used to produce “Tuscan” white wine.
We have used new winemaking techniques to give our grandparents’ wine a modern interpretation.
AZIENDA AGRICOLA GRAMINETA has existed since the late 1800s.
In 2008 we built a new winery, not only to make wine, but also to make other products.
We have deliberately opted for a healthy and fair agriculture, avoiding large-scale production and the use of substances to the detriment of quality and our health.
The base of our red and rosé wines is the Sangiovese grape, it is used alone or in combination with other grapes to give life to a blend that can be combined with traditional Maremma dishes with more modern dishes, but with strong flavors.
VARIETY GRAPE:
Trebbiano Toscano, also known as Ugni Blanc, is one of the oldest and most widespread white grape varieties in Italy and France. It is used for winemaking and also for distilling brandy.
The berries are relatively small, contain a lot of juice, and are often blended with Malvasia.
The grape is most likely of Tuscan origin.
Malvasia is a large group of white (sometimes red) grapes.
The Dutch name for this grape variety, and specifically for the sweet wine made from it, is Malvezij.
The name Malvasia likely derives from Monemvasia, a city in the Peloponnese, Greece.
CULTIVATION FORM: Cordone Speronato.
The forms of cultivation of the vine are diagrams of the methods of pruning and geometry of the rows.
The winegrower adopts this method to reduce vegetative growth and influence the quality and yield of the grapes.
After that, various crop forms have been selected and improved throughout the history of viticulture in order to obtain greater quantities and better quality of the grapes.
In conclusion this selection took place on the basis of a sort of purpose, such as wine or fruit grapes.
Here are for an example of cultivation:

VINEYARD CARE: According to the EU Organic Farming Protocol.
FERMENTATION: in steel tanks at a constant temperature of 15°C.
REFINEMENT: Maceration on the skins for 24 hours, three months “sur lie” method and one month of refinement in French oak.
AGING PROCESS: more than six months in the bottle.
AVERAGE YEARLY PRODUCTION: 70 quintals per hectare.
