Description

Brusio DOC white wine rich in floral scents Acacia and herbs: light hints of Citrus and exotic fruit. Delicious with fish dishes and cheeses…

AZIENDA AGRICOLA GRAMINETA has existed since the late 1800s.
In 2008 we built a new winery, not only to make wine, but also to make other products.
We have deliberately opted for a healthy and fair agriculture, avoiding large-scale production and the use of substances to the detriment of quality and our health.
The base of our red and rosé wines is the Sangiovese grape, it is used alone or in combination with other grapes to give life to a blend that can be combined with traditional Maremma dishes with more modern dishes, but with strong flavors.

VARIETY GRAPE: Vermentino

Vermentino is a light-skinned wine grape variety, primarily found in Italian wine. It is widely planted in Sardinia, in Liguria primarily under the name Pigato, to some extent in Corsica, in Piedmont under the name Favorita, and in increasing amounts in Languedoc-Roussillon. The leaves are dark green and pentagonal. Grapes are amber-yellow and hang in pyramidal bunches. The vines are often grown on slopes facing the sea where they can benefit from the additional reflected light. The Vitis International Variety Catalogue now gives Italy as its origin.

CULTIVATION FORM: Cordone Speronato

The forms of cultivation of the vine are diagrams of the methods of pruning and geometry of the rows.
The winegrower adopts this method to reduce vegetative growth and influence the quality and yield of the grapes.
After that, various crop forms have been selected and improved throughout the history of viticulture in order to obtain greater quantities and better quality of the grapes.
In conclusion this selection took place on the basis of a sort of purpose, such as: wine or fruit grapes.

Here are for an example of cultivation:

VINEYARD CARE: According to the EU Organic Farming Protocol.

FERMENTATION: Cold pre-fermentation maceration, fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel barrels.

REFINEMENT: 3 months via Sur lie method * and natural stabilization.

AGING PROCESS: It takes place in bottle for a very short period of time.

AVERAGE PRODUCTION PER YEAR: 8,000 bottles.

*This method (Sur lie). It is an old French method. Lie means lees and the term indicates that the wine has been left to age on the lees.
After alcoholic fermentation, the wine that has undergone fermentation is neither filtered nor pumped away, but is left to mature for a few months on the “lees“.
The lees, which lie at the bottom of the barrel or in stainless steel tanks still contain residues of yeasts and other solids which, in the absence of oxygen, will ferment on their own. This results in a fuller and more complex taste of the wine.
