The name… On our hill the wind never fails (and Italian is called ventoso) and the other peculiarity is that the hill on our side is called Il Poggio. It was easy to put the two together, hence… Poggio Ventoso.
Wine area: Maremma Toscana Rosso D.O.C.
D.O.C. means Di Origine Controllata = of controlled origin. This label awarded to superior quality wines produced in a limited area with certain characteristics.
CERTIFICATE: Organic.
PRODUCTION YEAR: 2018
COLOR: Ruby red tends to be purple.
GRAPE(S): Sangiovese – Merlot.

It is a fragile grape (very thin skin) with a strong scent of roses. The Aleatico grape has a relatively high alcohol content that makes for a nice balance with the high acidity.
Which means Passito? Passito is (semi-) dried grapes with high sugar content, the wine which is thus produced has a slightly smooth taste, but equally the alcohol content of 14.5% Vol.
